Hey crafts side of Tumblr, how should I go about fixing this sock? I've darned a couple little holes before in the past, but the threadbare area is so big here that I'm hoping there's an easier way. Is there, or would I have to put a lot of work in to darn this?
Sorry for the foot pic by the way. It's just that this seemed like the best way to show the issue.
You can do what's called running a stitch. It's similar to darning, but instead of patching a hole, you're rebuilding the existing fabric. I've done this on a number of thin socks like this and have found that two strands of embroidery floss works quite well.
Here is a great tutorial that is pretty easy to follow and can teach you the basics. It's aimed at reenactors, but it works in regular socks too. Good luck!

I was watching vine comps and had to stop to crank this [ x ]
